Our dog Charlie loves the dog park, where he can play and socialize with other dogs. Unfortunatly other dogs may be carrying fleas and or ticks which are atracted by the warm bobied canines. There are of course many sprays and powders availableon the market for repelling fleas and ticks, however most of them cost around and up for aneightoz bottle. Some of them claim to be herbal and "all natural" but do we know their chemical make up and affects. For this reasonI make my own herbal spraywhich cannot harm my dog, also it is more economical.
Instructions
Empty the contents of one bottle of skin so soft body lotion, by Avon into a plastic spray bottle. This forms the base for the repellent, it has a non greasy formula with aloa, so it also moisturizes and smell good. Add two parts water to one part Avon skin so soft.
Add 2-3 drops citronella oil. This essential oil is known as a plant based bio pesticide, so it won't harm your pooch. Moreover research has found it to be beneficial for calmingirate, barking dogs.
Add 2-3 drops lavender oil. This essential oil is known to be a mosquito repellent and also has has relaxing, calming effects as it is often used in aroma therapy.
Shake the bottle well to combine and spray your dog before taking him or her to the dog park. When sprayingpay close attentionto the neck and back areas or your dog.
